Linkages and Interdependencies
While CLPA is responsible for administering Crown land disposition transactions, the Lieutenant Governor in Council and client departments continue to establish fees, rents, royalties, etc. to be charged to the public. Manitoba Conservation continues to be responsible for land use planning, designating Crown land uses including Crown land to be sold or rented, and delivering Parks District services. Manitoba Conservation also continues to be responsible for compliance monitoring, authorizing work to be performed on Crown lands, determining successful applicants for vacation home lot draws, and resolving occupant conflicts as it relates to non-agricultural Crown lands.
Manitoba Agriculture, Food and Rural Initiatives (MAFRI) have similar responsibilities for agricultural designated Crown lands, with the exception of Crown land sales.
The mission of CLPA is to provide quality Crown land information and services to the public and government departments that are open, fair and transparent.
Crown Lands and Property Agency’s vision is to be a leader in Crown lands information and services that are highly valued for being open, fair, transparent and customer-centered.
